Being in the age of additive manufacturing (printing), you have to understand subtractive manufacturing is still alive and well. At Parallax Manufacturing, milling is an integral part of our skill set.
Machining is a skill and often at times, an art form. We know how to machine your conventional materials at different temperaments as well as various exotic materials.
We understand the difficulties that come with handling exotics. From mitigating the chance of flammability with these materials to the process of machining itself. Not to mention just your tool selection can make or break the project…
…. no one likes scraped parts.
COMPOSITES
Depending on what level of composite work you’re dealing with, things can be really simple…or quite the opposite.
No matter, we can do prepreg(B-Stage material) or wet layup at room temp with a vacuum back, we can use a curing oven or even an autoclave if necessary.
We can also fabricate all the necessary tooling and moulds needed for these processes and if machining is necessary, we can do that too.

TURNING
Turning and boring…where to begin?
You have Hard Turning, Parting, Knurling, Reaming, Polygonal Turning where you can make non-circular forms, Threading, Drilling, Grooving (not dancing), Facing, Spherical Generation, and of course drilling.
We can do it on a manual. Not all parts require CNC, but if it does we got you covered.

3D-PRINTING
This is the one that is “disrupting” the industry no matter which side of the fence you’re looking at it from. Additive manufacturing is now here and it is here to stay with advancements happening every single day.
Parallax Manufacturing has had its hand in this sector from early on. We have experience in a wide variety of materials to include plastic and metals. We have use both powdered and liquid filaments to get the job done.
Work holding is challenging for even the most experienced companies or individual (shoutout to hobbyist) and we pride ourselves on having the know-how to achieve successful outcomes.
Coatings and Platings
At Parallax Manufacturing we know a thing or two about coatings and plating. Do you need your part(s) powdered coated or plasma sprayed? Are you in need of decorative soft chrome for your car so you can go out on a Sunday cruising on Main Street?…or do you need Hard Chrome Plating for your combat airframe’s landing gear‘s struts and actuators?
There are a wide range of applications for this process. Depending on your need just ask us and we can guide you through to the correct service.
Welding and Fabrication
Traditionally in regard to welding, Parallax Manufacturing has only had its hand in Arc Welding, Resistance Welding, and the occasional Oxyfuel Gas Welding methods. With that being said we are starting to dip our toes into Laser-Hybrid Welding and Electro Beam Welding to open us up to other industries.
Now…on the Fabrication side of Parallax Manufacturing….yes. This is what the company was birthed from. Sawing, bending, shaping, drilling, welding… manipulating any type of material by various means to reach that desired outcome is what seeded and grew this passion and turned it into a company.
Heat Treating
Did your part keep cracking after you welded it? You to stress relive it huh?Your 2024-T3 part keep cracking while trying to form it?
We can help you with those issues and more. Understanding when and how to take your part to another temperament or condition specified by the drawing is what will make Parallax Manufacturing an integral part of your supply chain.
Forging
At Parallax Manufacturing we understand how difficult this process is and how imperative it is that you utilize the correct supplier. Any misstep in this process and the consequences can be catastrophic. Parallax Manufacturing has the experience with Open Die Forging, Roll Forging, Cold Forging, Closed Die Forging and the importance of grain direction. We also have the experience with the machining process(es) that may follow.
Inspection and Analysis
“Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with ”… and so on.
At Parallax Manufacturing we have the necessary experience to utilize CMM’s . Who doesn’t now of days?….but we will opt out of that for traditional methods of inspection if the your part doesn’t need that type of attention. Every job from its inception will be evaluated properly. We will not charge you CMM prices when a couple minutes with a caliper will do. just fine.
As for our “Analysis” breakdown; if you have a special project that may require reverse engineering and material is unknown we can handle those types of issues and concerns with little to no effort.
